Rapid Transit Systems, by Nexus Software, are easy-to-use data conversion tools for customers wanting to transfer data from legacy systems, including Symix/Syteline ERP packages, into standard Vantage data files.  The tools are menu driven and allow you to choose what files to convert.  Convert as many or as few records as needed for the initial implementation or your “next-phase” project.  Best of all, the Rapid Transit tools run on your own computer.  They can be run as often as necessary to get multiple environments loaded and meet the needs of phased schedules and changing priorities.
The tools are written using Progress Software’s 4GL Development Language.  The conversion tools allow your project staff to export data into templates for review as many times as necessary to ensure clean data.  Load the data to test environment until you are satisfied with results, then use the same tools to populate the training environment and finally, use them again when you are cutting over to ‘Live’ operations.  This is done on your machine without your data being shipped off-site.  No waiting until converted data is returned to your site to see the results.  The timing is tight, and results can be viewed immediately upon completion of the data conversion.

No special technical expertise is required from your project team. Requirements are simple:

1. Determine files to be converted to the Vantage 8 (or higher) database
2. License the Progress 4GL (single user version with maintenance)  OpenEdge software utility
3. Acquire the data conversion tools from Nexus Software, Inc.
4. Map your data to the conversion templates
5. Export data to the templates provided
